ZINES

The Latest information on Chicago Station zines

It's come to our attention that copies of out-of-print issues of Reflections have been auctioned at E-Bay and other auction services for very high prices.  While we're flattered fans would want to spend that much money on something we produced, we're also a little appalled that people would try to sell a used copy for more than three times its original cover price.

We understand that a zine being out of print makes it a "rarity", however, our initial purpose in producing Reflections and other Chicago Station titles was to share enjoyable fiction with the fans.  Chicago Station is not, and has never been a money-making venture.  All funds above and beyond the production costs associated with the zine are donated to the American Cancer Society in memory of Robert Lansing.

Therefore, it is our opinion that anyone who wishes to may make a copy of any out of print Chicago Station zine to share with friends.  If you wish to ask for copying costs, that is certainly within your rights.  If you decide to make copies to sell for profit, however, you will be violating the spirit with which the zines were produced in the first place.  We can't stop anyone who decides to bootleg or price gouge, of course--fanzines operate in a gray market as it is.  But we ask that you share your zines in a spirit of community and friendship, because that's why they exist in the first place.

We do, however, request that no photocopies be made of Chicago Station zines until they are out of print (usually in about a year--once it drops off the web page, you can consider it fair game).  While we don't make zines to make money, we can't afford to lose our shirts on them, either, and printing bills for new zines are considerable.

Thanks for your understanding in this matter.  We're pleased to continue to share these wonderful zines with you, our faithful audience, and hope you will share them with others in the same spirit.

Jan & Jeanne

WEB PAGES

As older Chicago Station zines go out of print, we'll be posting them as web pages--not quite as good as holding a zine in your hands, but better than losing it entirely--especially the older "classic" stories. This will be an ongoing process which has just begun. But in the meantime, enjoy these zines and stories.

Child of the Moving Tide A cycle of twenty stories which deal with young Peter Caine, from his days in the orphanage through his years with the Blaisdells. Written by Jeanne DeVore and Signe Hovde.

The Promise and Sole Surviving Son. Originally appearing in Deb Walsh's "Sound of the Flute", these are two linked stories, alternate to "Retribution", which deal with Blaisdell's death. Written by Jeanne DeVore. Kleenex warning.

The KF:TLC Script Collection

(Benefitting the American Cancer Society in memory of Robert Lansing)

Original scripts from the series have been gathered together in one place, and made available to everyone who wants to read them. Many of these scripts have been donated to the fans by the cast and crew of KF:TLC, usually on behalf of various charitable causes. The fans, in turn, have donated them to the Script Collection. The Collection was started as a way to continue this generosity--proceeds from the Collection are donated to the American Cancer Society in memory of Robert Lansing. Since the Collection's inception in October of 1996, we have raised over $4,200 for cancer research.

Over 140 scripts from all 88 episodes are available, including multiple versions of several episodes, and early drafts of others. Additionally, some scripts have supplemental pages--filming schedules, location grids, call sheets, etc.--fascinating glimpses of what goes into making a TV show.

The Script Collection is also proud to be the exclusive distributor of "Dreamscape", Executive Producer Michael Sloan's first draft script for a proposed KF:TLC "reunion" movie.
